Passwordless login in FollowNet: email codes instead of another password
Why FollowNet uses email verification codes on iOS and Chrome — and what that means for account security.
One less password to reuse
VPN apps that invent yet another password invite reuse and support resets. FollowNet signs you in with an email code so the account is tied to inbox access you already protect with Apple ID, Google, or your mail provider’s 2FA.
What we store for the account
We need enough to know you are subscribed or Free, restore Premium across devices, and support the Chrome extension with the same identity. That is account metadata — not a dump of browsed URLs. Details live in the Privacy Policy.
Practical tips
Use a real inbox you control, keep device passcode and Face ID on, and treat login codes like OTPs — do not forward them. If you switch phones, sign in again; Premium follows the Apple subscription and your FollowNet account, not a local password file.
