Browser proxy, not system VPN
FollowNet for Chrome routes Chrome tab traffic through a proxy tied to your FollowNet account. FaceTime, Slack desktop, and other apps on the Mac stay outside that path. Full-device macOS / Android / Windows apps are not shipping yet — say that out loud when comparing to the iPhone Network Extension tunnel.
Kill Switch scope
If the proxy drops, Kill Switch aims to stop Chrome from leaking to the clear path. It is not an OS-wide kill switch. Edge cases across Chrome updates exist — reconnect from the popup if status looks stuck.
EasyList / AdGuard blocking
Optional list-based ad/tracker blocking lives in the extension. It does not replace VPN encryption and can over-block a site — disable per site when something breaks.
Same Free / Premium rules
Traffic and entitlements follow the account. Free weekly allowance and Premium unlimited apply across iOS and Chrome usage. Prefer iOS when you need every app covered; prefer Chrome when only the desktop browser matters.
