Network Profiles reference: Smart, Public Wi‑Fi, Travel, Restricted
Exact built-in presets in FollowNet for iOS — protocol, DNS, Auto-connect, server mode — plus when to clone a custom profile.
What one profile stores
Settings → Network Profiles packs four knobs: preferred protocol (or Smart), DNS preset, Auto-connect mode, and server mode (Fastest / Last used / Specific). Applying a profile writes those knobs so you do not re-tune four menus every time the SSID changes.
Smart (default)
Protocol: Smart · DNS: System/Default · Auto-connect: Off · Server: Last used. Everyday starting point when you want FollowNet to choose the tunnel and you are fine reconnecting to the last city.
Public Wi‑Fi
Protocol: WireGuard · DNS: Quad9 · Auto-connect: Wi‑Fi Only · Server: Fastest. Built for cafés and airports after the captive portal is done: encrypt on Wi‑Fi, prefer a low-latency server, use a privacy-leaning resolver.
Travel
Protocol: IKEv2 · DNS: Cloudflare · Auto-connect: Always · Server: Fastest. Tuned for roaming and handoffs between LTE and hotel Wi‑Fi — boring reliability over novelty protocols.
Restricted + custom
Restricted keeps Protocol on Smart, DNS Quad9, Auto-connect Always, Server Fastest — for DPI-shaped networks where you want Smart Connect’s full ladder (including Hysteria2 / VLESS / AmneziaWG) without babysitting. Clone a custom profile when a specific hotel only works on, say, AmneziaWG + Cloudflare + Specific city.
