FollowNet VPN Control widget: status and connect without opening the app

What the Home Screen / Control-style widget shows, how it talks to the tunnel, and the states that need the full app.

What you get at a glance

The FollowNet widget is built for the one-tap habit: connection state, useful session context (country / timer / ping when available), and a control path that can start or stop the VPN without hunting the app icon.

How it stays in sync

iOS widgets and the Network Extension share App Group state. That is why the timer can survive when you connected from the widget, and why Settings / Control Center disconnects need careful latching so the UI does not fight itself.

States that bounce you to the app

Needs login, Free weekly quota blocked, or a permission / profile install that only the full app can finish. The widget will not invent an account or raise the traffic ceiling.

Pair with Auto-connect and Shortcuts

Widget taps are intentional. Auto-connect still covers on-demand Wi‑Fi / LTE rules. Apple Shortcuts (Connect / Disconnect / Apply Profile) sit beside the widget for Focus modes and NFC tags.
